It is now a legal requirement to provide all tenants and prospective buyers with an Energy Perfomance Certificate if you are Letting or selling a property. The reason for the report is to indicate how energy efficient the property is and how improvements can be made. The obvious reason a tenant would be interested in viewing this is to make a fair assessment of what their utilty bills would be.
EPCs have to be renewed every 10 years and are only required for the first time once a tenant has vacated the property since the law came in to force.
